2016: The Highlights Reel
A year of working with a wonderful array of old and new friends comes to a close - let us tell you the story of a few of our highlights...
Far, far away - in tropical North Queensland, Nathan brought Cinematic Theatre via masterclasses, a micro-residency in Cairns, and a professional development for teachers in Mackay.
In a land of wonder - students from St Columban's in Caboolture went down the rabbit hole in a new production of Headspace with Nathan and Nevin.
A story began - about the world behind the swinging doors of your local Chicken Hut. Bad Gravy was developed with Villanova College over the year, stirring and seasoning until it was just right. This script is now ready to be devoured, in case you're hungry...
With a bit of a twist - when Sunshine Coast Grammar School took on the Brothers Grimm, guided by Nathan's cinematic storybook.
And a lot of ideas - from students at Assissi Catholic College and Matthew Flinders Anglican College, delivering their final drama presentations with support from Nathan's cinematic edge.
Spilling forth - onto Springwood State High School, Nevin worked with the enthusiastic student team to deliver a fresh production of Spill - written with and for young artists.
Some big dreams - for Immanuel Lutheran College, working with Nevin and Nathan to realise an ambitious 3-screen cinematic design on their whole-school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
But, Full Disclosure - led to a creepy family gathering and some seriously stormy weather at Ipswich Grammar School. Nevin worked with the talented ghouls and guys of IGS and IGGS to put together the scary cinematic to give The Addams Family Musical a new edge. IGS followed up with a slick cinematic production of Show Me That Smile, with screen support from Nathan.
You're The One That I Want - and Beauty School Dropout echoed through the corridors of Victoria Point SHS. Rollers at-the-ready, Nathan and Steven worked with the creative team and multimedia students to support the realisation of this classic story with a modern, cinematic twist.
And we'll live happily ever after - remembering many other 2016 adventures shared with wonderful teachers, students and artists -- and looking forward to exciting new engagements in 2017!
