After school detention at Macquarie College took place in the worst room in the school. A room without windows and few chairs and tables; a room that smelt of an old air conditioner and boys’ feet. The first year teachers take turns on a roster for an hour and a half directly after school on a Friday afternoon. Today is Mr Petersen's turn.

Thirteen boys watch the clock, taking in turns to push back against Mr Petersen's authority. As we learn the backstory of how each boy ended up in detention, clear tensions are revealed. Just as things get heated, an alarm sounds and the school goes into lockdown. Is there a bomb in the school? Or is it all just an elaborate hoax?
